B. Sc. (HBP) (Hon.) (Arch) Offshore Programme USM-KPT (PoliPD)
Bachelor of Science (Hons.) (Housing, Building and Planning) (Architecture) off-shore programme USM-KPT (PoliPD) is a 3-year full time programme conducted at Polytechnic Port Dickson (PoliPD), Negeri Sembilan. The candidates must complete 127 units to graduate. Integrated approach of the programme is maintained where academicians from various built environment disciplines, such as town planning and design, construction methods, building services, building laws and regulations, professional practice and building technology are involved. Upon graduation, graduates will be awarded Bachelor's Degree with Honours (Housing, Building and Planning) (Architecture) which is equivalent to LAM Part 1. The offshore programme is a joint-programme between PoliPD and HBP in establishing a collaborative course.
Academic modules and quality of the programme conducted at PoliPD is the same with the main campus programme. Matters regarding registration, teaching and student's assessment are under the responsibility of both HBP and PPD. HBP School will ensure that the teaching quality and academic achievements of the lecturers and students at PoliPD campus are at par with the main campus. Students from both campuses will have the opportunity to cooperate, exchanging ideas, skills and creativity towards becoming competent and efficient graduates in global industry.
The programme will be implemented in three (3) phases as below:-
First, USM through HBP School will provide curriculum modules for PoliPD.
Second, USM and HBP will be responsible to monitor the teaching quality through a series of visits to PoliPD, at least once for every course in every semester, as the moderator for the course.
Third, Dean of HBP and Programme Coordinator have the right to advise the management of PoliPD programme at any time if required. Hence, PoliPD will be responsible to conduct the programme in fulfilling the criteria for various requirements in teaching and learning and in preparing educational needs to support the teaching and learning activities.
